Claude is extraordinarily confident that there are truffles there. He finds the large and numerous brûlées highly indicative that production has started. His feeling is that the soil was too wet for the odour of truffles to escape sufficiently for his dog, Jicky, to detect them. He had a similar experience recently in a very productive truffiÃ¨re in the Lot dÃ©partement where Jicky and other experienced truffle hounds were unable to locate the truffles in very similar conditions. Without any prompting from me he declared that he will return when the soil has had a chance to dry out and the air temperature is a little higher. Pictures of the hunt can be found on the Newsletters page and a short video is at https://youtu.be/PUqEycaHuNA.
