IS AT THE HEART OF
TRUFFLE TREE'S OPERATIONS
If you have any questions or comments
on the Adoption Scheme then we want
to hear from you.
E-mail is quick and easy but phone is better and more personal.
Once you are a tree owner then we
don’t just want to hear from
you, we want to meet you and welcome
you to Le Gardian and Le Gers.
Don’t forget that tree owners
receive a 20%
discount on B&B. Even I accept that a week is
probably too long a time to spend just
looking at a small oak tree, but there
are so many other things to do and
see within an hour radius of the truffière. We would love to put together a program for your stay, including in the winter months, truffle hunting and a visit to a truffle market.
Le Gers is an extremely rural département so agriculture and food products are
the main industries. If you are interested
in truffles then you would probably
enjoy seeing goat cheese made, visits
to Armagnac, Floc and wine producers,
a trip to an éleveur of ducks
or geese for foie gras or a mushroom-hunting
expedition in local oak woods.
As a food lover you will find the
prices in very acceptable local restaurants
totally amazing. For example, the restaurant
at our nearby golf course, just ten
minutes from Le Gardian, serves a
superb three course lunch for €15!
And if you can tear yourself away from
Le Gers then the sophisticated city
of Toulouse is just an hour away with
its museums, restaurants and theatres.
Lourdes, a town that will amaze believers
and non-believers in totally opposite
ways, is only a little further and
you can be high in the Pyrenees in
under two hours for walking or skiing. |
