A local farmer has said he has recorded more rain in the last three months than the previous eight years put together. That seems a bit extreme but conditions for truffle hunting are certainly very difficult. However, as the season is running out, we have decided to have an attempt on 17th February. Because we now have 700 trees of six years of age or more we will have five handlers and seven dogs to cover them all. Also, before the end of the season, we will be welcoming the President of the Gers Truffle Growers Association with his highly experienced truffle hound.
